Keeping active this winter: Jump Run Play.

It can feel overwhelming to have to put on all the layers of clothes, not to mention, the gloves, boots and beanies and walk out that door when it is 32 degrees outside AND there is a possibility of rain. Did you know that Oregon education requires kids to do 150 hours of physical education per week at public school? This is not enough in my opinion that said it can be hard to make this happen in the colder month’s for sure. I have made it just a little easier for you with some suggestions for both at home and in the Portland area. Move Move Move!

Fun and creative games for at home or inside with friends:

Game Ideas- A few fun games my kids enjoy and are physically active are: Throw Throw Avocado, Throw Throw Burrito, Bop-it, Battle Bird, Happy Salmon, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Floor is lava, any version of hopscotch you can think of. Oh and wrestling with age appropriate rules. OR Maybe you would like to create a dance routine or friendly family workout competition. How many push ups, sit ups and star jumps can you do on Monday? How many can you do by Friday.
